TAL Elevator Controls (TEC) Inc. and its affiliates and related entities, as applicable (“TAL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provide the TAL:HIVE platform and related products and services, including connected hardware, software, web portals, mobile applications, smart-home integrations, monitoring, diagnostics, alerts, predictive maintenance, and support tools (collectively, the “TAL:HIVE Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and otherwise process information in connection with the TAL:HIVE Services.
By accessing or using the TAL:HIVE Services, you acknowledge that your information may be collected, used, and disclosed as described in this Privacy Policy.

A. Affiliates and Related Entities
We may disclose information to our affiliates, subsidiaries, and related entities for operational, support, development, analytics, legal, and other business purposes.

We may disclose information to vendors, contractors, consultants, cloud providers, hosting providers, analytics providers, payment processors, communication providers, support providers, installation providers, dealers, technicians, and service companies that perform services on our behalf or in connection with the TAL:HIVE Services.
C. Authorized Dealers, Installers, Technicians, and Service Companies
We may disclose information to dealers, installers, technicians, monitoring personnel, maintenance providers, and authorized service companies in connection with installation, maintenance, diagnostics, support, service, troubleshooting, monitoring, and related activities.
D. Smart-Home and Integration Partners
If you enable integrations, we may disclose information to the relevant integration partners or platforms as necessary to provide those features.
E. Legal and Protection Disclosures
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary or appropriate to:

6. Aggregated, De-Identified, and Derived Data
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TAL may create, use, retain, disclose, license, commercialize, and otherwise exploit aggregated, de-identified, anonymized, pseudonymized, statistical, and derived data, datasets, analytics, reports, models, and insights derived from information collected through the TAL:HIVE Services, provided that such information does not identify you personally where required by law.
TAL may use such information for analytics, benchmarking, research, development, machine learning, product improvement, business intelligence, commercialization, and other lawful business purposes.
Where required by law, TAL will implement reasonable measures intended to maintain such information in de-identified form and will not intentionally attempt to re-identify it.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, log files, and similar technologies to operate the TAL:HIVE Services and to collect technical and usage information for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and related purposes.
You may be able to manage certain cookie preferences through your browser or device settings. However, disabling certain technologies may affect functionality.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

We use commercially reasonable technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.
However, no method of transmission, storage, or security is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

The TAL:HIVE Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 18.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in a manner that requires deletion under applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

The TAL:HIVE Services may interact with or contain links to third-party services, websites, platforms, applications, and integrations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties. Their collection, use, and disclosure of information is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
14. International Processing
TAL is based in the United States, and information may be collected, processed, stored, and transferred in the United States and other jurisdictions where TAL or its service providers operate.
By using the TAL:HIVE Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than those in your jurisdiction.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updated version will become effective as of the revised Effective Date posted above, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Your continued use of the TAL:HIVE Services after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated Privacy Policy.
